Coming after a week where Tallia sat with reggae maestro Luciano, looks like it’s a great season for dancehall fans because this week, it’s ZJ-Heno’s turn to reel in a superstar and it’s none other than reggae royalty Queen Ifrica.
This Jamaican powerhouse who was in the country some time back for a reggae festival will be live on ZJ-Heno’s overly popular Tuesday Uptown Nights Special via phone call and you can catch the entire session LIVE as from 10pm until midnight.
Queen Ifrica is celebrated for being an incredible conscious singer who often incorporates real life struggles of the common people into her music, something that makes for great radio play like her ‘Times Like These Single’.
ZJ-Heno has been instrumental in shaping the Kenyan dancehall scene having already released top charting riddims that featured Kenyan and Jamaican stars.
ZJ-Heno was also famously featured in the video to Willy Paul and Alaine’s most recent viral collabo ‘I Do’, perhaps as an ode to how instrumental he has been in helping the Kenyan dancehall scene really stand out and be recognized by the Caribbean stars who were its definite originators.
Along with his Tuesday night two hour Uptown Nights radio show, you can also catch ZJ-Heno, Thursday mornings from 10am to 11am on HBR’s Jam Session mixes.
