Ask anyone and they’ll probably tell you that Fast and Furious is mostly about cars and family, Which is actually true, but the eighth installment of the series now involves a giant submarine and wrecking ball.
Renamed The Fate Of the Furious in the US, the originally titled Wild Speed: Ice Break in Japan trailer was unveiled playing up the notion that all is not well between The Rock and Vin Diesel.
From the trailer, it seems like Vin has turned his back on the crew, because he’s been seduced by a new character played by Charlize Theron.
The trailer has everything you’d expect from a Furious film: massive stunt sequences (there’s a submarine that emerges from the arctic waters to knock over cars, a wrecking ball that smashes a line of vehicles and five cars tethered to each other), new locations (the film goes from New York City to the Barents Sea) and fancy vehicles (an orange Lamborghini and tank).
Stars Tyrese Gibson, Chris “Ludacris” Bridges, Jason Statham, Nathalie Emmanuel, Elsa Pataky and Kurt Russell all return for the movie while Charlize Theron makes her debut.
The Fate of the Furious arrives in theaters April 14.
