Wizkid – ‘Daddy Yo’ Ft Efya (Record of the Week)

RECORD OF THE WEEK || Wizkid – ‘Daddy Yo’ Ft Efya ||

Fresh off a long stay at number one thanks to Drake’s ‘One Dance’ and having toured and worked Chris Brown. Wizkid takes it back to his roots with the just released banger ‘Daddy Yo’.

Out late December (about last last week), Daddy Yo which comes complete with video features Ghanaian pop sensation Efya.

Thought it’s so far gotten mixed reviews with there being a number of critics saying its a far cry from what they’d have expected to be the Naija boy’s follow up to ‘Shabba’, it’s currently enjoying massive airplay and is this week’s ‘Record of the Week’ here at Homeboyz Radio.

Seen the video yet? Well here you go.

Wizkid’s Team Speaks Out About The Singer’s Arrest Warrant and Legal Woes

Wizkid was expected to appear in court after Ugandan event organizers filed a lawsuit against him claiming that he “received money under false pretense, cheating and conspiracy to defraud.”

See what happened was that Wizkid had been scheduled to perform in the East African country this December (3rd), an event that was canceled on grounds of ‘unavoidable circumstances although the event organizers report not being informed of the Naija star’s cancellation until the last minute.

They thereafter incurred really great costs something that lead them to take up the issue with the law.

So far, Wizkid’s manager Sunday Are has come out about the while situation, reassuring fans that the star is doing fine and that they are currently in settlement negotiations.

Troubles or no troubles, 2016 has undoubtedly been a great year for this ‘Ojuolegba’ singer.

Watch Justin Skye Ft Wizkid’s ‘U Don’t Know’ Video

Justine Skye’s out here striking while the iron’s hot. The sultry American singer under the Roc Nation label has just dropped a video with Africa’s very own Wizkid. This has definitely been a good year for the Nigerian rapper and although he is not seen anywhere in the video, his vocal presence is felt.

She just came off her high profile feature on Schoolboy Q’s ‘Overtime’ with Miguel. She talks about the video saying, “When it comes to love, I go through a lot emotionally. The song speaks to that vibe. That’s a space I’m in right now emotionally and physically.”

Enjoy.

Wizkid Loses His MTV EMA Awards To Alikiba

During the MTV EMA Awards, Wizkid managed to scoop up Best African and world wide act but people were not that happy with it, especially Tanzanianas, because according to the polls on the MTV site, Alikiba seemed to have gotten more votes than Wizkid.

Yesterday, MTV Base East Africa made an announcement saying that they had wrongfully given Wizkid the awards and that they would immediately send them to Alikiba.

Alikiba then took to his facebook page saying, “Sasa ndio nimepata confirmation kwamba ni kweli tuzo inakuja Tanzania na vile vile mimi siwezi kuzungumzia, nitasubiri mpaka nizishike.”

Wizkid has since deleted all posts relating to the said awards on his Instagram page.

Congratulations to AliKiba.

Would You Pay Ksh. 50,000 To Watch Chris Brown & Wizkid Perform?

You know the Mombasa Rock Music Festival is going to be lit if Chris Breezy and Wizkid are going to step on that stage on the 8th of October. This has definitely been a big year for Wizkid after the release of One dance with Drake and his close association with some other big stars like Tinie Tempah where they did Mamacita and even Chris Brown with Shabba.

If you are a super crazy fan of either of the two stars then i think it’s time to go and withdraw your savings from the bank because this event is going to cost you. Regular tickets will be going for 10.000 shillings, while VIP and VVIP will go for Sh 20,000 and Sh 50,000 respectively and the event will take place at the Nyali Golf club. The tickets will be purchased through Jambopay or through a USSD code *805*20#.

If you can afford it, by all means go ahead and have a blast and if you can’t, remember, stealing is not good. Don’t rob no banks!

The Shade-filled IG Caption Shared by Wizkid’s Baby Mama

Wizkid is being rumored to be dating UK beauty and singer Justin Skye.

Back home though, he allegedly has more than one baby mama one of who he’s never truly recognized.

Binta Diamond Diallo is the mom to King Ayo, Wizkid’s alleged son, and while she never makes the scene, she has now after sharing adorable photos of her son on IG.

Cute right?

Thing is, it wasn’t so much the photos that caught our attention than it was the caption which alluded to the fact that Wizkid doesn’t in any way help support them.

She captioned that pic;

“You gotta show people things are going to get done with or without them #focused #ridingmyownwave #singlemom #doitall”

My opinion? I know there’s shade being thrown Wizkid’s way, but you know, I actually don’t mind it. You go girl!

Is There A Collabo Brewing Between Wizkid And Diamond?

Tell me you don’t the jitters when you see these two hanging out in studio. I’m not one to speculate but wouldn’t it be great if they were to work on a collabo? They are both internationally recognized having performed at stages like ‘One Africa’ in the US last month and having both collaborated with big stars.

Diamond shared this video through his instagram account and whether they were just hanging out or actually brewing something together, we can’t but wonder, is there a collabo in the making?

Tiwa Savage’s New Video is ‘Bad’!…Literally

They are two powerhouses blowing up on the African music scene and with Wizkid’s global recognition thanks to ‘One Dance’ and Tiwa Savage’s ‘Roc Nation’ deal still pending, this is one collabo I couldn’t wait to listen to and see if it would really live up to all the hype.

This Mavin record produced single now has a video and it wonderfully features both of these stars.

Does it live up to the hype? Let us know.
