Homeboyz Radio FC is set and ready to go ahead of Saturday’s StarTimes Inter-media tournament at Upper Hill School from 9am.
HBR FC is in pool B alongside Mombasa rd based Standard Group, MediaMax(located in CBD) and vernacular side Lolwe TV.
Fifteen media teams and hosts StarTimes will duel for the ultimate glory and cash prizes on offer for top three finishers.
The Galana Plaza based side has been readying for the tournament with the last training session set to take place at Arena One, Valley Arcade on Friday.
Led by Zuhum Omar of HBR Fanzone, the HBR FC boasts experienced players like Dj Andie, Max Radio, Dj Zaq, Ignition host Kerry Martin aka Ramsey, Jinx of Jump-off and Frank Theuri of JSHBR.
Ladies who made the team include Entertainment news editors Emily Oduor and Ngina K alongside head of creative Kadzo Mwangoma and Violetta Ngina.
HBR Fanzone host Eric Njiru will be the manager/player of the team.
The likes of Dj Bash, Kriss Darling, Dj Burn and Neville of GMITM are ruled out due to personal engagements. News Anchor Dennis Toll is out due to the ongoing Ramadhan.
Defending champions Radio Africa are set against losing finalists from two years ago Ghetto Radio in the group of death. They also play Capital FM and minnows ATG Radio.
Royal Media Services are top seeds in Group A and are joined by KBC, Ebru and hosts StarTimes.
Nation Media Group headline Group C followed by Kass Media and Qwetu Radio. A talented field of freelance journalists complete the group with high probability of qualifying.
