The two rappers have been throwing shade at each other for the past few weeks following Pusha throwing shade at Drake in his track “Infrared,” which referenced Drake’s alleged ghostwriter Quentin Miller. This led to Drake firing back with his own diss track “Duppy Freestyle”. This, again, led to Pusha releasing another Drake diss track “Story Of Adidon” a scornful track in which Push accused the 6 God of being a “deadbeat” father.
We were so eager to see Drake fire back, until J Prince talked Drake out of releasing the “Career-ending” track. Now, Pusha has recently revealed that the longstanding feud is finally over.
“I mean, you know. These conversations have been had and, to my knowledge, it’s all over. It’s all over with,” he told Vanity Fair. “I mean, listen: I’m ready to be back to the music for real. Just feeding my base, that’s it. That’s the most important thing to me at all times.”
I guess that’s it for Drake and Pusha-T beef. Now who’s next?
We’ve been waiting for a comeback from Drake since Pusha-T’s diss track, “The Story of Adidon,” but it seems like that’s never going to happen.
As it turns out, Drake is sitting on the comeback track which he will not be releasing since J Prince talked him out of it.
In an interview with radio personality Sway, Prince said that Drake has agreed to not drop the song.
“After speaking with Kanye, I spoke with the brother, and he didn’t want this,” Prince told Sway. “I saw this going to a place that I feel would have ended his career if Drake would’ve put out this song that he had on him.”
He added that the track “would definitely have hurt families”.
“The ingredients was overwhelming,” Prince said. “I know for a fact that it would have been bad for Kanye and my man.”
He continued, “It’s beyond music at that point. It’s going to affect the livelihood. It’s going to interfere with his whole lifestyle from that moment.”
If Drake’s track did drop, it sure would’ve been one hell of a clap back.
Pusha-T clapped back at Drake following his diss track “Duppy Freestyle” with a diss track of his own “The Story Of Adidon”. Pusha-T used Drake’s blackface photo as the cover art for the scathing diss track that also included claims that Drake is the father of porn star Sophie Brussaux’s child.
Drake’s picture caused a stir on social media, prompting him to explain what it was all about. Taking it to Instagram, the “God’s Plan” rapper explained that the photo was taken to highlight and raise frustrations about black actors “not always getting a fair chance in the industry”.
Drake and his best friend at the time, actor Mazin Elsadig were “attempting to use our voice to bring awareness to the issues we dealt with all the time as black actors in auditions”.
Now we just sit and wait to see if Drake is going to hit the studio for another Pusha-T diss track.
2016 was quite a year for the recently turned 40, 21 grammy winning rapper super star Kanye West, with the February release of his long anticipated album The Life of Pablo.
The album which charted at #1 on the Billboard 200, was his 8th album to go platinum, and the first album to go platinum from streaming alone in music history. Things were looking good for the super star, after his return to the music industry following a 3 year break after the release of Yeezus, where he took time off to focus on his Yeezy fashion line, but after promising the release 3 albums a year, we’ve mostly heard radio silence so far from Mr. West, with only a few singles being released since, which brings up the question, what’s going on with Kanye?
You may remember Kanye West’s mental breakdown in November 2016, where exhaustion led the rapper to go on a 17 minute rant, where he wasn’t afraid to call out Jay Z and Queen Bey for becoming distant with him and his family over the years.
He went on to mention, radio personalities, his friends and fellow artists such as Taylor Swift, Frank Ocean, and Drake, before turning to politics, beginning to praise then presidential nominee at the time Donald Trump while teasing at Hillary Clinton.
He then proceeded to then end his show after preforming only 3 songs from the lineup, disappointing thousands fans in the audience who had paid top dollar just for entry.
As an even bigger disappointment, he then canceled the rest of his much coveted Saint Pablo tour, giving ticket buyers refunds without a solid explanation.
Shortly after this incident, West was shortly hospitalized in California for 10 days for a ‘psychiatric emergency’ that seemingly came out of nowhere.
Since his brief hospital visit, the rapper was rarely sighted in public until he was unexpectedly pictured in December to much controversy, leaving Trump Tower in New York with then President elect Donald Trump.
Yeezy later explained the details of what the two discussed in a series of tweets, saying: “These issues included bullying, supporting teachers, modernizing curriculum and violence in Chicago. “I feel it is important to have a direct line of communication with our future President if we truly want change.”
Even now, the rapper has been doing the best he can to stay out of the spotlight, declining to attend Met Gala 2017 with his wife, who when asked about her husband, told reporters he was home, “taking some time off and really loving that” and in addition, in May he deleted his Instagram and Twitter accounts that had 27 million combined followers. Although it almost seems like Kanye has gone off the deep end, the recent May 5th launch of the children’s fashion line, ‘TheKidsSupply’, combined with good news from fellow rapper Pusha T, the president of Kanye’s label, GOOD music, has led to fans becoming confident that the rapper is back on track to delivering hits like ‘Mercy’ and ‘Gold Digger’ once again.
A source told entertainment website Page Six, “He’s far from any noise. He’s far from Hollywood and is very isolated right now. He wants to get back into his creative groove,” the source then continued, saying, “That’s his pattern. It’s what he always does. He goes away. He’s done Hawaii, Mexico, Paris, Malibu . . . It’s what he’s always done. He’s not in some ‘struggle’ to find his creative voice. Any creative endeavor he’s done, there’s a start to the process and he wants to figure out what he talks about. It’s a creative journey every time and he starts from scratch.”
In a new interview on radio program “The Fam in the Morning,” G.O.O.D Music label-boss Pusha T confirmed that Ye is indeed working on a new album.
The follow-up to last year’s The Life of Pablo has been teased by Kanye as being titled Turbo Grafx 16, but his recovery process post-breakdown has cast doubt on whether the project will ever come to light. Pusha dispels these claims with a simple statement that Kanye is hard at work before going on to elaborate on his label’s plans for the year; which will include his upcoming album, King Push and an album from Teyana Taylor.
Kanye West x Adidas, Pharell Williams x Puma and Kendrick Lamar x Reebok.
It seems rappers getting their own sneakers is all the craze these days. Pusha T, G.O.O.D. Music President, who is not so new to the craze (since he has been collaborating with adidas originals for the longest time on ‘King Push’ kicks) is set to drop a new line soon.
The “King Push” EQT (Equipment) this time round features a grayscale color scheme on a bevy of materials that give this particular pair of sneakers an eye-catching element that sneakerheads live for.
From the Primeknit top along with the carpe overlays that seem like python skin along the side toe and heel mesh something lovely. Throw in some reflective material that makes the signature adidas stripes on the side shine and you have something that heads will salivate over.
The adidas “King Push” drops on December 3 on adidas.com and will retail for $200 just like the .
