Getting To Know Kenyan Hollywood Star Christine Wawira

Her name surfaced onto the scene this past week as part of the scandal revolving around comedian Chipukeezy’s meet and greet with world wide icon Kevin Hart.

Chipukeezy had earlier accredited his getting to meet Kevin Hart to an anonymous white lady before Christine by way of social media ‘receipts’, showed the world just how untrue that was.

This Kenyan Churchill show performer and radio show host has since apologized to both Christine and to his fans, and in case you are only now getting to know about this Kenyan born beauty, here’s what you need to know about her.

Christine Wawira has lived abroad for quite some time with family, having left Kenya at the tender age of 7. She developed a love for acting and became quite good at it from as early as high school, featuring in some notable films, documentaries, series, shows and commercials, including East African Girl, Flash, Blacklisted, Sign of the Dragon, Red Carpet hosting at the Oscars & Grammys, Night Call, among others.

Besides her pretty enviable acting portfolio, Christine Wawira is a mother of two and has also done some modeling.

Chipukeezy’s apology to her read (in part);

Hi Wawira, I appreciated you for holding my hand when I needed it. I am sorry I did my interview in a way that didn’t acknowledge you or give you credit. For a person who relied on other established artists to climb the ladder, I atleast owed you a mention. For that I am sorry forgive me . To my fans and everyone who has my back, I am sorry for letting you down. I have learnt a valuable lesson and will strive to do better always.@christinewawira

To get you all caught up on that situation, here is the initial interview that started it all. You know. The one where he narrates a story about the anonymous white woman who helped him get to meet Kevin Hart.

And here’s a screenshot of a message exchange between an understandably surprised Christine Wawira and Chipukeezy.

During her steady rise to the top, Christine has gotten to rub shoulders with some major names like actor Tom Cruise, musicians Nico and Vinz, actor Andrew Garfield and many more as is posted on her instagram.

Movie Review: “Alien: Covenant”

“Oh ye of faint heart, this might be the longest 122 minutes of your life!”

This could have been anyone during the Alien: Covenant premiere at Anga Imax yesterday night, well unless of course they had watched Prometheus.

The latest chapter in the sci-fi horror franchise sees the probability of  human specie extinction yet again, with the colony ship Covenant bound for “paradise.”

This is the first biggest colonisation mission and the fate of the crew members along with the thousands of colonies and embryos solely depends on captain Oram (Billy Crudup) who had to assume command after the sudden death of the original captain Bransom (James Franco) (who by the way doesn’t even last a minute in the film)

He appears to be some what weary and unsure of himself but he has faith and is out to ensure that the rest of the crew respects his leadership and so as leader he commands change of plans – they no longer  journey to planet Origae-6 (paradise) but to an unknown planet after intercepting a human radio signal.

Things definitely do not go as planned and the enemy within is horrifyingly also the enemy without.

David (played by Michael Fassbender)  who also plays Walter (the “good” android (an updated model) built to obey and protect the embryos aboard Covenant) finally meets Walter.

David’s weird lair is enough red light if you ask me but he has just saved the Covenant crew members who now know that coming to the planet was a bad idea; so why would they doubt him plus he’s “related” to Walter right?

This lady here; Daniels (played by Katherine Waterston) is quite the admirable type, resilient, witty and smart- she suffers a big loss but still makes major comebacks that not only saves the Covenant the colony and crew members as well, well at least for a major part of the movie.

The Neomorph is the alien that will keep you on the edge of your seat with every appearance it makes through out the movie, bursting full force out of the torsos of every infected human; morphing into a monster and sparing not those in sight – a creation of the created out to eliminate the creator and anything connected to it-LOL I know, I know, watch the movie and you’ll understand what I mean.

Lives are devoured (a few that leave us emotional) blood and all sorts of body fluid gushed, roles changed and yes violence and horror is at an all time high in this here Ridley Scott directed movie.

It goes without saying that there will definitely be a second and third sequel, so do keep up; currently showing at Anga Imax :

Kenyans Pissed Over Westgate Attack Footage Used In 24: Legacy

For those unaware, 24: Legacy is a US show that airs on the Fox network and serves as a spinoff to the highly rated show 24. The reason as to why a lot of people are going off about the show, mostly Kenyans, is because of the producers poor choice in including actual footage Westgate Mall attack in 2013 – to pad out a storyline about a fictional attack in Egypt.

Here is the official break down of the episode, in case you haven’t caught it yet:

Eric, who recognized Jadalla, asks Grimes about his lead, Gabriel, an arms dealer who provided the jihadists with guns and smuggled them in the US. Since Gabriel will demand secret military schematics in exchange for cooperation, Eric asks Mullins, who denies the proposal because of mistrusting Grimes’ intentions. Ingram has Shalowitz, who knows Mullins is planning to fire him, steal the schematics, which he gives to Eric, who breaks out Grimes; and the duo escapes CTU. Meanwhile, John becomes suspicious of Henry and acquires proof that the footage is fake. The former confronts the latter, who reveals that Jadalla forced him to send the information by threatening to disclose a deal his company made with ISIL.

To remind people of that tragic time and make them relieve memories they deeply want to leave in the past is far beyond annoying and very uncooth. The least they would have done is stage an attack as opposed to using actual footage of the attack.

Kenyan were not happy about this and took to twitter to vent.

Using real footage to depict fiction is an insult to the families who lost their loved ones that day and it’s very sad that such an action is being let to fly.

First Look At Predator (2018) Cast

The cast of the sci-fi movie “Predator” (2018) has finally been revealed. Director Shane Black (same guy who directed Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, Iron Man 3, The Nice Guys) shared a photo of the cast on twitter as shooting begins.

The cast includes Boyd Holbrook, Keegan-Michael Key, Trevante Rhodes, Olivia Munn, Sterling K. Brown, Jacob Tremblay and the recently-cast Thomas Jane.

There were previous discussions on whether or not Arnold Schwarzenegger would be part of the cast but it’s now confirmed that he is not part of the main cast. However, sources say that he will appear at some point in the movie.

Details about the plot and characters are still vague but fans have learned some aspects during the pre-production process. For instance, Rhodes and Holbrook allegedly play ex-Marines who are best friends, Munn is a scientist on the team, and Brown is a government agent. It’s also been said Tremblay portrays the son of Holbrook’s protagonist and has a sizable role in the conflict due to his preternatural ability to learn languages.

The film premiers in February 2018.

5 Movies That Are Going To Blow Your Mind In 2017

Watching movies is a good way to take time off work and just relax and the list below is one that is sure to rock your world.

Did You Know (DYK)? Idris Elba’s First Acting Role

Did you know that before Idris Elba became the big shot he is today, the actor once featured as a pizza delivery guy in 1994 British science fiction series Space Precinct?

He was only 22 when he got the part in the show, while working as a telemarketer and doing night shifts at an automotive factory to support himself.

A moment he describes as a “big Hollywood moment” got him only two lines (“Sublight pizza! Hey.”). That’s it.

Big bummer, he couldn’t nail the American accent so his voice was dubbed. Despite this, Idris had a good laugh remembering this moment during an interview in Kyoto, Japan.

“I was dedicated to being an actor. I really wanted to be successful and that job came in. It was a massive surprise,” he said.

When asked what he could do differently if he could go back to Space Precinct he said, “I wouldn’t let them change my voice. That’s the only thing I would do. Maybe make it less cheesy as well (laughs).”

Of course since then the actor has gotten bigger roles like in “Luther” and “Mandela”.

Bad Boys 3 Release Date Pushed… Again!

We love all the comic book, superheroes, and vigilantes movies but sometimes we need a pair of badass cops. Luckily, Sony has got us covered on that part with Will Smith and Martin Lawrence featured “Bad Boys”.

The “Bad Boys” franchise made quite an impression in the late 90s and early 2000s and now it turns out that there’s a “Bad Boys 3” coming up.

As reported by Exhibitor Relations on Twitter, Sony has decided to push Bad Boys 3 off the January 2018 date. As of right now, the film is slated to hit theaters November 9, 2018.

Both Will Smith and Martin Lawrence are scheduled to return for Bad Boys for Life with Joe Carnahan tapped to direct, but everything else surrounding the film’s production has remained in flux.

This is the second time the release date has been pushed sparking the question as to how bad they really want to bring back this franchise.

Leonardo Dicaprio To Star In Mafia Thriller ‘The Black Hand’

With an Oscar on his belt, Leonardo Dicaprio is on the hunt for new roles. We have seen him play both sides of the law.He was a federal mahshal in Shuttah Island, played the Boston mob against itself for Martin Scorsese in The Departed, and we’ve seen him play more wicked and cruel roles in such films as Django Unchained and The Wolf of Wall Street.
According to Deadline reports, Paramount has purchased the rights to nonfiction crime novel The Black Hand and DiCaprio will be the lead actor.

The book tells the true story of Joe Petrosino, an NYPD cop who waged a one-man war on the Italian Mafia in New York during the late 1800s. An immigrant in his own right, he fought to uphold the good reputation of his homeland while cleaning the streets, but his efforts earned him a lot of attention from criminal types.

The storyline, dramatic conflicts, crime theme, all suit Leo Dicaprio. Maybe this will be the movie to get him yet another Oscar.

First Look At Queen Latifah, Jada Pinkett Smith Comedy Trailer “Girls Trip”

What happens when a group of girlfriends who haven’t hung in five years take a trip together? Girls trip.

Universal has released a first look at an all-girls comedy epic “Girls Trip” starring Queen Latifah, Jada Pinkett Smith, Regina Hall and Tiffany Haddish.

Directed by Malcolm D., (the director ofThe Best Man and its sequel The Best Man Holiday), the film follows four friends as they embark on a trip to New Orleans for the annual Essence Festival.

It’s been five years since their last real group hang, and so you know they’re gonna do it up right when they decide to have one final blowout before fully moving on to the world of adulthood. They head down to New Orleans for Essence Fest, the annual music festival/celebration of black culture and excellence, and of course the girls go ham: dancing, drinking, brawling and romancing.

The movie is R-rated so we’ll so have to see if down the road we get a red band trailer.

We have had plenty of bachelor party movies featuring the boys letting loose and getting crazy, but not many featuring the women partying up before saying “I Do” so let’s just hope this one doesn’t disappoint.

The movie is set to hit theaters on July 21.

10 Movies You Must Watch In 2017

2017 has just began and we sure do need some movies to help us push through the year. 2017 will be filled with sequels, superheroes, and reboots. As you plan your cinema trips, here are 10 films you can’t afford to miss out on:

The Fate Of The Furious (April 14)

The eighth franchise of the Fast and Furious film is one you’ll really not want to miss. The insane car chases and main man Dominic Toretto (Vin Diesel) betraying and going face off against his team will have you glued to your screen. The movie comes out on April 14th.

John Wick: Chapter 2 (February 10)
The first John Wick movie gave the actor his most iconic role since The Matrix, and if the reluctant hit man decides to keep postponing retirement, this gun-fu train seems like it might have a few more thrilling stops left in it.

We really enjoyed the first Guardians with all the comedy and emotion and the second one is nothing less. The motley crew of Peter Quill (Chris Pratt), Gamora (Zoe Saldana), Drax (Dave Bautista), Rocket (voice of Bradley Cooper) and kid Groot (voice of Vin Diesel) became a family in the previous film and now they have to actually be one. The movie focuses on Quill’s origin in terms of his space-traveler father (Kurt Russell) as he (Quill) tries to understand why his father wasn’t around.

At least this one is close to it’s release. The blockbuster spy thriller franchise features Xander Cage (Vin Diesel), an extreme athlete who became a government agent. In the upcoming movie, Cage will be going against the ultimate warrior Xiang (Donnie Yen) and his men to recover a mysterious and powerful weapon called the Pandora’s Box. Cage will be working with his own unique group of people as well to unravel secrets in world governments.

Wonder woman (June 2)

‘Transformers: The Last Knight’ (June 23)

The Last Knight has Optimus Prime searching through the cosmos for the Quintessons, the beings believed to be responsible for the creation of the Transformers race. Meanwhile back at home, Wahlberg’s Cade Yeager will be facing a new alien threat that brings Lennox (and possibly Epps) back into duty.

Thor must face the Hulk in a gladiator match and save his people from the ruthless Hela.

The rip-roaring adventure finds down-on-his-luck Captain Jack feeling the winds of ill-fortune blowing strongly his way when deadly ghost sailors, led by the terrifying Captain Salazar (Javier Bardem), escape from the Devil’s Triangle bent on killing every pirate at sea – notably Jack. Jack’s only hope of survival lies in the legendary Trident of Poseidon, but to find it he must forge an uneasy alliance with Carina Smyth (Kaya Scodelario), a brilliant and beautiful astronomer, and Henry (Benton Thwaites), a headstrong young sailor in the Royal Navy.
