Lil Wayne’s Legal Lawsuit With Birdman Finally Settled

Lil Wayne’s legal battle with Birdman is over.

The young money rapper has reportedly reached a settlement with Birdman which will also release him from his record deal with Cash Money Records. Wayne has been battling this lawsuit since 2014 after Birdman and the label refused to release his album “tha Carter V”.

In 2015, Weezy sued Cash Money for $51 million to terminate his record deal. He accused Birdman’s label of owing him an $8 million advance for Tha Carter V, plus $2 million once the album was complete.

Lil Wayne’s attorney Ron Sweeney confirmed that the rapper has reached a settlement with Cash Money, but did not disclose terms of the deal other than saying he is “happy.”

“Per our settlement agreement, the matter has been amicably resolved to the satisfaction of all parties,” Sweeney told Billboard. “In terms of the particulars, we’re prohibited legally from saying anything further. I can say that my client is happy. He is his own man, a man that owns his assets, his music, and himself. At some point, Wayne will let his fans know what’s going to happen next.”

Lil Wayne Threatens To Shoot His Fans!

It’s often an innocent attempt by concertgoers to throw souvenirs at artists on stage but, as it turns out, not all artists appreciate the gesture.

One man who completely hates this is Lil Wayne. Just last month, the rapper warned people at a concert over throwing things on stage saying that his crew “don’t know who to shoot at”.

The incident happened again. While performing “A Milli” at the Cannabis Cup on Saturday (Apr. 21) in San Bernardino, Calif., Tunechi asked his DJ to stop the music and warned fans about throwing things on stage.

“Y’all throwing stuff on stage,” he said. “I don’t know if it’s love, or y’all trying to promote something, but I’m from New Orleans and we don’t know how to accept that shit. I got New Orleans people with me and all they know how to throw back is shoot. They’ll just shoot.”

If this is not enough to scare anyone, I don’t know what is.

Women In Grime: Lady Leshurr

You cannot mention grime and fail to mention “Queen Speech” rapper and actress Lady Leshurr, I mean how can we not mention her after she gained praises from the one and only Eryka Badu and landed a collabo with grime godfather Wiley.

Before fans called her by her current rap moniker, she was Lady Lesha; from her real name, Melesha O’Garro.
Then how did it morph into Leshurr you ask? Well, after a hook from one of her early songs echoed “Leshurr (shurr)” and the exaggerated pronunciation became popular, she decided to stick with it.

She got into music listening to one reggae song by Sister Nancy called Bam Bam prompting her to immediately start writing, but once she heard rapper and singer Ms Dynamite everything changed, Ms Dynamite was everything she wanted to be.

Other rappers who she admires to date include Eazy- E, Eminem and Lil Wayne.

An interesting fact you should know is that her mother was a great lover of reggae music and her siblings used to rap and sing as well.

She initially gained fame through her critically-acclaimed mixtapes, winning Best Female at the 2011 Official Mixtape awards and also took home the 2016 MOBO Award (MOBO stands for Music of Black Origin) for Best Female Act.

She co-produced the beats for her famous “Queen’s Speech” series with producers Z Dot and Krunchie and what actually inspired the series was watching battle raps; like if she was part of a battle rap that’s how she would punch; note that she has mentioned a number of times that she did not base or direct them at anyone, they were just freestyle and battle rap inspired.

Off of her popular EP “Queens speech” “Queen speech 4” received the most love and respect, watch it below; the video is fun and spectacular.

A fun fact about the rapper is that she used to have 11 fingers, like an extra little finger without the bone, just skin and nail, she no longer does however cause her mother had it taken care of when she was young.

What you should also know about the rapper is that whilst  some of the negative feedback about her and her music used to get to her, now she uses every negative vibe or comment about her music to help her create the next; just like she did with her 3rd song from her “Queen speech” EP

She was once quoted saying “I have no beef with any female artist, I don’t look at the scene as competition. We all have to stick together, all the males in the music scene stick together, we need to do the same.”

Dvaid Guetta Reveals Collabo With Nicki Minaj And Lil Wayne

Following what’s been a winning combination, David Guetta and Nicki Minaj are joining forces yet again. The duo, Nicki and David, have had a very successful time working together with their songs “Turn Me On,” “Where Them Girls At,” and “Hey Mama” that all climbed to top 15 in the billboards top 100.

Lil Wayne has also worked with the French Dj before on the Chris Brown-assisted “I Can Only Imagine” and Madonna’s “Revolver.” He revealed this in an exclusive interview on Facebook (via HHNM) saying, “My next single is featuring Nicki Minaj and Lil Wayne. This is exclusive. I’ve never said this.”

“We have a really good combination with Nicki,” said Guetta. “Every time we make records, they’re really incredible and very successful. I think she’s very, very special and we work really good together so it’s exciting. Plus, we have Lil Wayne on top of that. It’s pretty big.” According to Minaj, she’s also filming the music video for her Major Lazer and PARTYNEXTDOOR collaboration ‘Run Up’.

Lil Wayne Previews “Tha Carter V”- Listen

Lil Wayne has previewed a track from his highly anticipated album “Tha Carter V” on Instagram.

Just a few seconds of the track titled “Life of Mr. Carter” is available for listen. The album has not been released yet due to some controversies but Cash Money CEO and Birdman announced that the album will be coming out though there is no date mentioned.

“It’s definitely coming out,” he said in a Beats 1 radio show interview. “The situation with me and my son, I’m going to put it all behind us and just let it move forward. Wayne is one of the best artists ever to do the game, and I want to see him continue to do what he been doing, and I’m going to support whatever he’s doing.”

Kodak Black Wants To Fight Lil Wayne For ‘Best Rapper’ Title

There seems to be a lot of beefs between rappers and Kodak Black is really brewing up this one. He says that he is over Lil Wayne calling himself the best rapper alive and that he is willing to fight him for the title. According to him, he is, of course, the best rapper alive. Putting up a video on Instagram, he said, “Tell Lil Wayne fight me. We fin’a get in the ring. We fin’a fight. Me and Lil Wayne. I’m fin’a knock that stupid-ass ni**a out.”

“If he whoop me, he the best rapper alive,” Kodak added. “I’ma beat his stupid ass. I bet everything on it. Since Soulja Boy and Chris Brown are doing it. I don’t even need no trainer. I don’t need Floyd Mayweather or Adrien Broner…Whoever wins, they the best rapper alive.”

A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie has aligned himself with Kodak, adding that he’ll bet on Black to win a fight against Weezy. “I got my jewelry on it,” he said in the video.

Lil Wayne has yet to respond to this, but if he does, we hope it will be in some bars on a track.

Lil Wayne Lining Up “Velvet” Project

After Lil Wayne teased Tha Carter V, Dedication 6, and Funeral, Young Money President Mack Maine reveals that Tunechi is also planning to release another project.

“We wanna get that Carter V out,” Maine told Revolt. “Wayne also has a dope project called Velvet. We want to get that out.”

Mack Maine says Wayne is also part of a group project titled L.A.T. featuring HoodyBaby and Gudda Gudda. “They going bananas,” he added. But that’s not all for YMCMB, the label is also planning to release Drake’s More Life and the follow-up to Nicki Minaj’s 2014 album The Pinkprint.

“Drake dropping top of the year,” Mack added. “Nicki got some features, I’ve been in the studio with her lately, that she’s just killing. She also gonna be working on her solo project.”

Earlier, Birdman also announced that Tha Carter V will see a release, despite Wayne’s ongoing legal battle with Cash Money.

“It’s definitely coming out,” he said. “The situation with me and my son, I’m going to put it all behind us and just let it move forward. Wayne is one of the best artists ever to do the game, and I want to see him continue to do what he been doing, and I’m going to support whatever he’s doing.”

Last year, he teased a sequel to his joint ColleGrove project with 2 Chainz and recently, he hinted at a potential Young Money compilation. In September, Weezy alarmed fans when he seemed to retire in a series of frustrated tweets. However, he would later clarify his stance. “If that [tweet] was at 3:30 [a.m.], I probably was at the studio at 6,” he said. “The height of my talent or the height of my career, I haven’t reached that at all.”

That makes at least five new possible projects for Lil Wayne in 2017; Tha Carter V, Funeral, Dedication, L.A.T. and Velvet. 2017 could be the year Tunechi brings all right back and reminds us why he still one of the rap game’s elite.

Lil Wayne Teases ‘Carter V,’ ‘Funeral,’ & ‘Dedication 6’

It looks like Lil Wayne is ready to release a slew of new material, including his long awaited album Tha Carter V, judging from a cryptic new Facebook post.

Recently, Tunechi shared a photo featuring 2 Chainz, Gudda Gudda, and others. But it was the caption that raised eyebrows: “CV. Funeral. D6. Young Money.”

It’s unclear what Wayne meant by the post, but fans are taking it as an announcement for the upcoming releases, Tha Carter V, Funeral, Dedication 6, and a possible Young Money compilation project.

Teased since 2012, The Carter V has reportedly been finished for some time. However, it has been held up by Weezy’s $51 million lawsuit against Cash Money.

Wayne hinted at a lot of new material during an appearance on “The Nine Club” podcast in November. “Funeral is coming soon,” he said. “That’s my music. Get your roses ready. I don’t have a release date, but I have a whole bunch of good news coming soon. If you’re a Wayne fan, I know we’ve been going through a lot of tough times right now, but if you are a Wayne fan, we about to hold our heads high soon.”

In April, the New Orleans spitter teased Dedication 6, the sixth installment in his DJ Drama-hosted mixtape series. “I’ve also been working on some crazy shit for a mixtape and we just didn’t have a good name for it yet,” he said. “But it might as well just be a Dedication.”

Last month, pharma-mogul Martin Shkreli claimed he purchased the CV double album and even played a snippet of a new track. Tunechi’s camp confirmed that the song was from a Carter V session, but noted that the LP has not been turned in to anyone just yet. They’ve reportedly launched an investigation about how it landed in Shkreli’s hands.

While it looks like it will be a big year for Wayne, none of the aforementioned projects have confirmed release dates.

Wale & Lil Wayne Debut ‘Running Back’ on ‘First Take’

Wale and Lil Wayne celebrated their love for rap and sports with a live performance of “Running Back” on ESPN’s “First Take.”

Rocking an Undertaker T-shirt and ripped denim, Folarin debuted the S.H.I.N.E. collaboration with a live band behind him. “I be with killers just coming home,” he raps. “They only hope is me and the Koran / They only wish is for that new chain / But they stuck up in the ankle bracelet.”

Sporting a white jacket over a grey shirt, Tunechi made a surprise appearance mid-set, rapping about lies he’d like to dispel. “I like the finer things,” he raps. “She said I sent her a diamond ring / She said I buy her all kinds of things / She lie about everything / I put her on time out and everything.”

Tunechi and Folarin have both been guests on “First Take.” Wale even recorded the show’s theme song.

Earlier, Wale dropped another collaboration, “Smile” featuring Phil Ade. Last month, he also unleashed “Heisman Watch,” “Black Is Gold,” “Folarin Like,” and “Groundhog Day.”

Dj Khaled Keys 41!

Khaled Bin Abdul Khaled aka Dj Khaled turns 41 today!

Is there anyone who really doesn’t know Dj Khaled? Well perhaps there is so lets not leave anyone behind. So Dj Khaled literaly shouts his name “Dj Khaled” and “we the best” at the beginning of all his tracks.

Now, before the fame he was your average dj on radio but now, he is a big shot dj, a producer and music executive. Love him or hate him, his presence in the rap game is unignorable and boy can he round up superstars in one room/studio.

He has worked with an endless list of stars from Chris Brown, Ludacris, RickRoss, Snoop, Drake, Lil Wayne, Nicki Minaj, John Legend, Kendrick Lamar, to name but a few.

The guy sure does have the keys to success as far as his career goes and not to forget his recent album “suffering from success”

Now Dj Khaled has not only given us hits after hits, but also some crazy memories, remember his proposal to Nicki Minaj on MTV news?

Of course Black Barbie responded by claiming that it was just a PR stunt but Khaled looked pretty serious in the video, anyway Khaled has since moved on and has a fiancee.

The surprises don’t end there just the other day (In October to be more precise) the producer snap chatted the entire birth of his son’s birth while his music played in the background (perhaps to prove why he won the Snap chater of the year award)

Watch it here

So clearly apart from music , Dj Khaled does sure have plenty of time for social media and when he is not posting crazy stuff he is inspiring folk. Here’s Dj Khaled talking about how he ‘Always wins’ inspiring folk to never give up!
