Flats Tornadoes bows out of Koth Biro tournament

Flats Tornadoes have bowed out of the annual Kothbiro Football Tournament after battling hard against a star studded Pumwani All Stars.

The Tornadoes camp had internal issues with some of their key players being left out of the starting line-up an issue that led to the delay of kick-off. The first half was all colorful and fireworks with both sides missing out on clear chances with the Pumwani keeper making excellent saves much to the delight of the tense fans.

A few minutes into the second half and a powerful Pumwani were on the attack. A free kick was awarded to their advantage with the ball directed towards the crowded goal area where Athman Buki’s shot got deflected by a Tornadoes defender and the ball lay calmly at the back of the net.

The Tornadoes came out stronger afterwards but all their efforts were thwarted by the theatricals and experience from Pumwani. It was an exciting match and Tornadoes were knocked out with their heads held high. Pumwani All Stars fielded a very strong team with most of their key players back on the team including SPL winner Cercidy ‘Carrick’ Lumumba who came in during the dying minutes.
