Following hot on the heels of her last release, Offset featured ‘No Drama’, Tinashe is now on Record of the Week (ROTW) with her latest release ‘Me So Bad’.
This after we’d listed a number of new singles that we projected to be ROTW this week, seems we were right in choosing this Ty Dolla $ign and French Montana collabo (‘Me So Bad’) as one in the number.
‘Me So Bad’ has an uptempo vibe to it which is very playful and catchy, plus, it dropped with it’s accompanying video which matches the jam’s energy with a bright color palate and sultry visuals.
Released this Easter weekend, ‘Me So Bad’ features lyrics such as …
I know you want my free time I know that we don’t play that, that, that, that I’m walking on a thin line I’m hoping that it break, break, break, break, break I’m tryna give you FaceTime, yeah Don’t mean you wanna wait, wait, wait, wait, wait I wanna better bassline, I wanna better bassline
Every week, we give one jam the honor of enjoying a week’s long heavy airplay on HBR.
Last week the honor was Rich The Kid’s ‘Plug Walk’ but as we are yet to have a ROTW for this week, we thought it best to list a couple of new singles that may just be next in line.
Konshens – ‘Big Belly’ ft Rick Ross & Rvssian)
Though not quite your usual Caribbean flavoured jam, it has been quite some time since we featured a Jamaican artist on ROTW and this single which features Maybach Music mogul Rick Ross, definitely plays into our strengths being that it is a Hip Hop single.
‘Me So Bad’ by Tinashe ft Ty Dolla $ign and French Montana
Following her ‘No Drama’ single featuring Migos super star Offset, Tinashe might be on ROTW with this playful jam ‘Me So Bad’. It’s uptempo which makes for an almost definite banger with the added advantage of featuring HBR staple artists Ty Dolla and F Montana.
‘Love Struck’ by WSTRN, Tiwa Savage and Mr. Eazy.
Wouldn’t be the first time that this UK based RnB crew made it onto ROTW having had their single ‘Textin’ become ROTW. The crew seem to be targeting that spot with their latest release which is a collaboration with West African stars Tiwa Savage and Mr. Eazy.
‘Suicidal’ by Diplo ft Desiigner.
This Major Lazer producer and deejay never disappoints when it comes to producing hit singles and this new one he’s come out with features Trap star Desiigner.
Jason Derulo is no stranger to ROTW having featured on it with his song ‘Swalla’ and he now makes a return with a song whose title is all too familiar to us.
In what may very well be a first in ROTW history, this is the second time for a song with the same song title to have featured twice on the ROTW.
Jason’s ‘Tip Toe’ boasts of his signature catchy beats and sing along hook whose lyrics go …
Hold tight when you tiptoe Shake something when you tiptoe Don’t brace when you push that back Left, right, do it just like that Hold tight when you tiptoe
Featuring rapper French Montana, the two stars made this raunchy banger fit for ROTW status and will even have it feature in Jason’s soon to come ‘777’ album which when it drops will be a follow up to his 2015 ‘Everything is 4’.
Other jams that will feature in that album include ‘If I’m Lucky’ and ‘Swalla’.
The Bad Boys team up to release a visual for their just released single “Can’t Feel My Face.”
On a private jet, Montana goons throughout the entire visual with a white ski mask while Puff Daddy goes for an all black look. The noir shot visual is the perfect visual for their new banger.
At the end of the video, Montana , talking to a bust of the Buddha, says, “I have to act like I don’t see nothing. I have to act like I’m numb to the pain. I’m bleeding on the inside. That’s why I do the things I do.”
It’s unclear where “Can’t Feel My Face” will land, though there has been talk about French Montana working on an upcoming project to follow-up MC4.
French Montana plugged a possible upcoming video by sharing an image of himself and Abel, posing in front of the McLaren P1 that appeared in The Weeknd’s “Starboy” video and his Mania short film.
“SET LIFE,” French captioned the flick. “young legend in that p1.”
It’s unclear what Montana and Abel were shooting, but it looks like it might involve airplanes. The pic was geo-tagged at the Van Nuys Airport in Van Nuys, Calif.
The music video could also involve Blac Chyna. Sitting on a jet wing, the model posed for a picture with Montana, who captioned the shot: “young legends.”
The mysterious collaboration could also be part of Montana’s upcoming album. After scrapping MC4 last year, French revealed that another project would be coming soon. In October, he said he was mostly finished with it and promised it would be “some of the best music you’ve ever heard.”
What better way to celebrate your birthday than to light it up with a bunch of celebrity friends and of course, get and elephant to join you. That is what French Montana did during his 32nd birthday.
Celebs like Desiigner and Iggy Azalea (who’s been MIA for a while) showed up to show French some love and he was more than happy to share this on his instagram page.
Iggy who is rumored to be dating the rapper was called out for animal cruelty because people did not feel very pleased with the fact that the elephant had been embroidered with jewelry around it’s ankles and neck that looked like chains but people will always have something to say whether you’re doing bad or good.
Either way, it did not bring their birthday spirit down as French was later on seen partying it up with some of his friends late at night.
After French Montana’s MC4 which was supposed to have been his sophomore album, leaked online shortly before its original August 19th release date, French has finally announced that he’s soon to release it.
The artist has released two new music videos, starting with the sun-soaked “XPlicit” clip, which features Miguel and stunning women dancing on the beach.
The second video for “Have Mercy,” which features Jadakiss, Beanie Sigel, and Styles P, finds French somberly reflecting on his late friend and collaborator Chinx while the visual takes cues from cop shows like “CSI.”
We know he’s hommies with Drake, Tinnie Tempah and with Chris Brown but it turns out Wizkid’s got even more famous friends only just releasing a hit single that’s got Mr. Steal Your Girl Trey Songz and Fench Montana.
The jam which is called ‘Shabba’ was initially released featuring only Chris Brown, Hoody Baby and Section Boys but as this new poster suggests, there will be another version of it to hit the airwaves soon and it’s set to also feature Trey Songz and French Montana.
Wizkid only just featured on UK Rapper Tinnie Tempah’s ‘Mamacita’ single and looks like we haven’t heard the last of international collabos by this Niaja emcee.
