It was once rumored to always be a race-to-the-top between Niaja emcees Davido and Wizkid.
Well, Wizkid’s got a number of chart topping international collabos and whether it’s in proof of their long lasting competition or not, Davido has only just also released another one of his international collabos and it’s already made it to be Record of the Week (ROTW).
Featuring Rae Ssremurd and Young Thug, this Sony signed star goes ham on the DJ Mustard produced beat worthy of the top position on any music chart, somegthing we already predict to happen.
Davido who has been in the country a number of times has had a few cross over hits before now, with artists from Africa like Mafikizolo and Diamond Platnumz as well American singer Tinashe.
The video to this brand new one, ‘Pere’ garnered over one million views in under 5 days and will now enjoy a week’s long airplay and bragging rights as HBR’s record of the week.
Wizkid has been on a roll releasing hit after hit and now, the Starboy has teamed up yet again with Drake to release ‘Hush up the silence’. Their ‘One dance’ collaboration scored Wiz a gammy nomination and topped music charts when it was released.
Wizkid had teased earlier in October through twitter saying, “6god x Real Starboy about to school everybody.” Since then, Wiz has teased upcoming collaborations with Ty Dolla $ign and DJ Mustard. “Me and the brudda Ty made more bangers with DJ Mustard,” he wrote. “2017 will be a special one!!”
Zig-zagging through traffic in a caravan of fancy drop tops, DJ Mustard, Nipsey Hussle and RJ celebrate success in the video. “You make it from nothing,” raps Hussle, while sporting a Seattle Mariners jersey. “Such a wonderful feeling / My clothes expensive / My hoes appealing.”
The West Coast slapper keeps the Seattle love rolling as RJ rocks a Seattle Super Sonics jersey as an ode to Shawn Kemp. “You start to lose friends when they know that you’re winning,” warns Mr. L.A. “They see that we’re winning.”
“Ridin’ Around” is a single off Mustard’s 2016 release Cold Summer, which also featured “Want Her” with YG and Quavo, “Don’t Hurt Me” featuring Nicki Minaj and Jeremih, and the RJ solo cut, “Main Bitch.”
Sitting pretty at the top of most music charts thanks to her album ANTI, Rihanna is doing big things. She worked with one of pop music’s top and highly rated producers DJ Mustard to come out with that ‘Needed’ jam.
Catchy tune that is, Rihanna who only just released an epic teaser to her STANCE socks collection has debuted the video to that. Check it out.
