DJ Khaled Returns to ROTW With Some Familiar Faces

DJ Khaled has had his fair share of stay on ROTW, the last time being thanks to his Beyonce and Jay Z featured jam ‘Shinning’.

This iconic producer is said to have gone as far as relocating to New York just to try and bag himself a Jay Z Beyonce collabo and seeing as how ‘Shining’ was ridiculously successful, it makes sense that he thought to record and release yet another single with the power couple, a single we now know as ‘Top Off’.

The joint single also features Trap Music king Future and while we may still be holding it in comparison with ‘Shining’, ‘Top Off’ is its own banger with notable verses from all three acts including Beyonce who channels her inner rapper and shows out with lyrics like;

I’m the only lady here, still the realest nigga in the room
I break the internet, top two and I ain’t number two
My body, my ice, my cash, all real, I’m a triple threat
Fuck it up and then leave, come back, fuck it up and leave again

‘Top Off’ took over ROTW from Post Malone’s second stay at that spot and is currently enjoying world-wide airplay.

Check Out Dj Khaled’s Heartfelt Video Letter To Son Ashad

If there’s someone who’s so in love with his son it’s so adorable is Dj Khaled.

He recently announced the name of his new album “Father of Asahd” and to top that, he penned a really sweet letter for his one year old.

The letter is all about how his son Asahd has changed Khaled’s perspective of love and happiness and inspired him to be greater than he already is.

The accompanying video features adorable footage of the young icon dancing, smiling, and playing, while his proud dad provides narration.

“Here’s a major key,” he says in the video. “Our children give us the ultimate name, the greatest title, the highest honor. My son has given me my new name. Father of Asahd. Today, that’s what I’m naming my new album.”

Last week, Khaled released the lead single off his 11th album Father of Asahd, “Top Off,” featuring JAY-Z, Beyoncé, and Future.

Nav Makes a Debut On ROTW With ‘Wanted You’

It’s US rapper Nav’s first stay at the ROTW (Record of the Week) but this will be Lil Uzi’s fourth feature on it having had a successful two time run with his own singles and once on Migos’s ‘Bad and Boujee’.

Complex magazine dubbed him, ‘first brown boy to get it poppin’, describing him as ‘brown’ presumably due to his Indian descent and one striking thing about him is his close resemblance to DJ Khaled. Am I wrong?

Khaled actually co-produced this ROTW (Wanted You) alongside producers Ben Billions and Cash so while we enjoy bumping to yet ‘another one’ from this music maestro, here’s a bit more about Nav.

Born and raised in Canada (to two Indian parents), Nav would create music mash ups in high school, later deciding to create his own beats, which is where his road to fame started.

“I became, like, pretty much the coolest kid in high school because I had started making beats for local rappers,”

Fast forward to today, this fast rising rapper is creating waves with this ‘Wanted You’ single which features Trap Icon Lil Uzi Vert, a song where Nav raps about falling for the wrong kind of girl.

It takes over from Jacquees and Dej Loaf as ROTW this week, here’s a look at Wanted You.

Party Of The Decade! Dj Khaled Turns 42 (Pics)

You thought Dj Khaled’s son’s birthday was over-rated? Well, wait till you see Dj Khaled’s 42nd birthday party!

Although the We The Best Music C.E.O turned 42 on November 26th, Forbes’ highest paid Hip-hop artist P.Diddy held Khaled an extravagant birthday party over the weekend.

The star-studded affair included celebrities like Pharrell, Mary J. Blige, Kelly Rowland, Usher, Chris Brown, Wiz Khalifa, Fergie, Teyana Taylor, Snoop Dogg, Jermaine Dupri, Akon, Meghan Trainor and even iconic producer Jimmy Iovine.

Of course Khaled’s first child Ashad and  fiancée Nicole Tuck wouldn’t have missed out on this one.

Take a look at some of the pictures below:

DJ Khaled Gifts Son $100K Watch For His Birthday! (Pics)

Dj Khaled’s love for his son is beyond this world.

The Dj and producer threw a lavish lion-king themed birthday party for his son Asahd.

The kid who was turning just one year old had Diddy hosting the party and besides the tones of gifts he received, Asahd crawled away with a brand new, adult-sized watch from his father.

According to TMZ, the diamond-studded watch itself is worth over one hundred thousand dollars and apparently features six-hundred diamonds!

I mean this kid is already the executive producer for Grateful which has been certified platinum and has a

full of designer kicks! Isn’t he just the luckiest kid ever?!

Watch Steph Kapela Body DJ Khaled’s ‘Wild Thoughts’ (Video)

He’s part of this year’s Jump Off Freshmen class and while all eyes are on all of the young fresh emcees on that list to see how they live up to being the representation of the new nu sound (#NuLife) of music in Nairobi, Steph is definitely putting in work.

This ‘Got The Sauce’ rapper has enjoyed a fast rise to fame (at least in our eyes) and has featured on many a television and radio interviews, one of his most recent features being his epic rap battle with Ignition HBR’s Mike Wachira The King Slayer, where let’s just say, he was slain.

Even so, we know he’s got rap skills having watched him go ham on his weekly freestyle sessions (#FreeSteph Fridays) and we know he’s got a great personality from the insane interviews he gives but one thing we also know, is that he can sing!

It’s probably the one thing that sets him apart from the rest of the freshmen and might be the ‘sauce’ on all of his jams, including most recent release ‘Only One’ featuring singer Wendy Kemunto.

Well, watch Steph Kapela flex his vocal skills in an overly plausible rendition of DJ Khaled’s ‘Wild Thoughts’ in the most recent edition of JamHuri Jam Sessions.

RECORD OF THE WEEK || ‘Shining’ by DJ Khaled ft Beyonce & Jay Z

RECORD OF THE WEEK || ‘Shining’ by DJ Khaled ft Beyonce and Jay Z

Shortly after the 59th Grammy awards, DJ Khaled released a brand new single called ‘Shining’ that features two of music heavy weights Beyonce and Jay Z.

The track’s artwork (photo above) is actually an adorable photo of Khaled’s infant son Asahd Tuck Khaled.

While the Grammys were great for Jay and Bey who are expecting twins, this jam is a good look for the snap chat king since this power couple last featured on a song back in 2013 (‘Drunk in love’).

His album ‘Major Key’ was nominated for Best Album of the year at this year’s Grammys which is no mean feat regardless of the fact that he lost it to Chance the rapper.

Enjoy this brand new banger as it plays out as your record of the week and in case you didn’t know them, here are the official lyrics.

New Music: Dj Khaled “Shining” Ft Beyonce & Jay-Z

Now this is one MAJOR key.

Dj Khaled surprised us with a brand new song “Shining” featuring Jay-Z and Beyonce. The track was dropped immediately following the end of the 59th Grammy Awards.

The adorable cover features Khaled’s son Asahd Tuck Khaled and is the first single off the Snapchat King’s upcoming 10th album Grateful, which will be executive produced by his son.

Beyoncé just won several Grammy awards, including Best Music Video and Best Urban Contemporary Album. The last time she and her husband appeared on a record together was 2013, on the song “Drunk in Love.”

This is Beyonce’s first collaboration with Khaled, and Jay Z’s first since “I Got The Keys” off of Major Key.

Dj Khaled Is Being Sued!

Dj Khaled’s “I Got The Keys” track was a huge hit last year but now reports say that Khaled is now facing a lawsuit for the track.

According to TMZ, producer Chris Hill met Khaled at a nightclub in Atlanta in October 2008 and gave Khaled the CD with the beat he used in “I got The Keys” but never heard from him again.

Hill is suing Khaled, Sony Music and the various producers of the track for a cut of the massive profits “I Got The Keys” made.

This couldn’t have come at a worse time since Khaled just shared the title of his upcoming album “Grateful” his follow-up to the Grammy-nominated Major Key.

DJ Khaled Teases Major Collaborations

On Saturday, Dj Khaled let fans know that he’s “up to something” with Keys. The two appeared in Snapchat videos together and Alicia even posed for a photo with the producer’s new son, Asahd, who serves as the album’s executive producer.

The following day, Khaled joined Justin Bieber for a quick game of street hockey at the pop superstar’s home. “This is a new sport for me,” Khaled said while Bieber scored a flurry of goals. “This my boy Justin Bieber. We up to something.”

As if that wasn’t enough, Khaled then hit the lab with Chance the Rapper. Sharing a photo of Chano in the recording booth, Khaled revealed just a portion of his top secret operation with a snippet of the studio session.

And just for overkill, Khaled posted a couple of other grams with him and Travis Scott in the lab. Mariah Carey also dropped by the studio alongside Scotty.

Last week, Khaled announced that his Major Key follow-up is on the way. “I’m releasing the title of my new album soon,” he said. “I can say soon. Soon come!”

Released last year, Major Key became Khaled’s first No. 1 on the Billboard 200. Featuring artists like Drake, Jay Z, Nicki Minaj, Kendrick Lamar, Lil Wayne, Nas, J. Cole, Wiz Khalifa, Rick Ross, and Future, the album sold 95,000 equivalent album units in its first week.
