Kenyan songbird Cece Sagini is soon to walk down the aisle.
Cece and her fiancé Victor Peace held a colorful Ekeragerio /Roracio (a traditional wedding ceremony) over the weekend.
The ceremony saw the coming together of two cultures;Kikuyu and Kisii. Cece took to Instagram to share the news captioning:
Ekeragerio/Ruracio….such a beautiful occasion when two families come together and there is good chemistry….we thank God that there was great chemistry and a lot of laughter. The handover had all sorts of emotions, especially when they changed me into this beautiful Agikuyu outfit 😍….more to come
This comes two years after the popular lifestyle photographer Victor proposed to Cece on live T.V on The Trend.
While her jam ‘Ensobosobo’ continues to receive great airplay, we decided to have a bit of a chat with the ever flawless Cece Sagini who opened up about a few things.
For starters, although ‘Ensobosobo’ is in Kisii, she is actually not that fluent in it. Laughing at the question, she said she understands it well but could use more practice to sound as great as she does in the song.
Also, when it comes to setting standards on the choice of person one should date, Cece is of the opinion that we ought to settle for values rather than physical attributes to avoid disappointments. As for what she herself looks for (rather, looked for)? She cited supportive, attractive with a great personality.
Sounds like a great criteria to me and when it comes to her music, this sultry singer spoke of releasing a few more singles before compiling an EP or album for us.
She also named artists she’d love to work with on the African scene with her list being diverse and including Wizkid, Tiwa Savage, Victoria Kimani and Eddy Kenzo.
We know her for hits like ‘I’m a doer’ which featured the legendary Kaka sungura but now she has released a new single called Ensobosobo which is an infusion of kiswahili, kisii and English. Ensobosobo, just like love, is a Kisii wild fruit that is sweet but rare to find. Here is a link to the You Tube video watch me
Just as we were counting down the best Kenyan songs from last month, we are served with yet more amazing music from the 254.
Cece Sagini debuted her brand new song & video last night at an event attended by the likes of DJ Creme, after which the video got it’s wide release on YouTube. Produced by Kevin Provoke (who also produced Wangechi’s “Cardiac Arrest”), “Feel It” is a call to all of us to be the start of the change we wish to see in the world around us, beginning with helping those in need in our own communities.
Take a listen to (and watch) the video for “Feel It” below and let us know what you think:
