Cardi B Is Officially The First Female Rapper To Do THIS!

Bodak Yellow has been the trending track for months across the world which is quite the impressive feat seeing as how it’s rapper Cardi B’s first official single.

The track which is bass heavy and a popular hit in the clubs has now given this Caribbean affiliated star a new accolade, becoming the first  ever female rapper to top Billboard Hot 100 without assistance from any other rapper.

How big a feat is that? Well the last time a female rapper did that, it was 19 years ago and the artist was Lauryn Hill.

Cardi B’s ‘Bodak Yellow’ is now holding back other heavyweight jams from the top spot, including former Record of the Week ‘Rockstar‘ by Post Malone ft 21 Savage which stands at number two and Taylor Swift’s ‘Look What You Made Me Do‘ which is at number three.

Cardi B got her rise to fame notably on reality show Love and Hip Hop and she even references the show’s producer Mona Scott when she says;

Had to let these bitches know (yeah), just in case these hoes forgot (oh)
I just run and check the mail, another check from Mona Scott (oh)

The Weekend ‘I Feel It Coming’ (Record of the Week)

The Weekend ‘I Feel It Coming’ | Album: Starboy

This makes it the third time that The Weeknd has made it to our record of the week having featured on it in the past with ‘I can’t feel my face’and his Daft Punk collaboration ‘Starboy’. Taking over from DJ Esco’s ‘Too Much Sauce’ who had taken over from Bruno Mars’ ’24K Magic’, this single is a classic from the young super star whose album is barely a week old and is already charting within the top 5 of billboard album charts.

It’s already got a video out and in case you’d love to sing along to it while it enjoys repeated airplay as record of the week, here are the lyrics.

Tell me what you really like
Baby I can take my time
We don’t ever have to fight
Just take it step-by-step
I can see it in your eyes
Cause they never tell me lies
I can feel that body shake
And the heat between your legs

You’ve been scared of love and what it did to you
You don’t have to run, I know what you’ve been through
Just a simple touch and it can set you free
We don’t have to rush when you’re alone with me

I feel it coming, I feel it coming, babe
I feel it coming, I feel it coming, babe
I feel it coming, I feel it coming, babe
I feel it coming, I feel it coming, babe

You are not the single type
So baby, this the perfect time
I’m just trying to get you high
And faded off this touch
You don’t need a lonely night
So baby, I can make it right
You just got to let me try
To give you what you want

You’ve been scared of love and what it did to you
You don’t have to run, I know what you’ve been through
Just a simple touch and it can set you free
We don’t have to rush when you’re alone with me

[The Weeknd & Daft Punk:]
I feel it coming, I feel it coming, babe
I feel it coming, I feel it coming, babe
I feel it coming, I feel it coming, babe
I feel it coming, I feel it coming, babe
I feel it coming, I feel it coming, babe
I feel it coming, I feel it coming, babe
I feel it coming, I feel it coming, babe
I feel it coming, I feel it coming, babe

[The Weeknd:]
You’ve been scared of love
And what it did to you
You don’t have to run
I know what you’ve been through
Just a simple touch
And it can set you free
We don’t have to rush
When you’re alone with me

[The Weeknd & Daft Punk:]
I feel it coming, I feel it coming, babe
I feel it coming, I feel it coming, babe
I feel it coming, I feel it coming, babe
I feel it coming, I feel it coming, babe
I know what you feel right now
I feel it coming, I feel it coming, babe
I feel it coming, I feel it coming, babe
I feel it coming, I feel it coming, babe
I feel it coming, I feel it coming, babe
I know what you say right now, babe
I feel it coming, I feel it coming, babe
I feel it coming, I feel it coming, babe
I feel it coming, I feel it coming, babe
I feel it coming, I feel it coming, babe
I know what you say right now, babe
I feel it coming, I feel it coming, babe
I feel it coming, I feel it coming, babe
I feel it coming, I feel it coming, babe
I feel it coming, I feel it coming, babe

[Daft Punk:]
I feel it coming, babe
I feel it coming, babe
I feel it coming, babe
I feel it coming, babe

With These Album Sale Projections, The Weeknd Is Climbing Straight To The Top

The Weeknd changed his iconic 9 inch tall hair style for the single ‘Starboy’, a jam we later learned would be the title track from his upcoming (now released) album.

This semi-Ethiopian star (That’s right! He’s got Ethiopian roots!) delivered a stellar performance at the American Music Awards even though he pretty much did half the song from inside a crystal-like tunnel.

It’s okay. Watch it here and you’ll see what I mean.

Well excuse the pun but The Weeknd dropped his album this weekend and it is doing well already sitting at number three on the billboard albums chart and according to online sources, this collective work, is already on its way to sell between 350,000 to 400,000 copies in its first week.

‘Starboy’ the album features artists like Kendrick Lamar and it was such an iconic album for this Canadian pop star that he even released a short film a week before where among other things, his loyal fans get to see him dance.

Pink’s Breathtaking Performance At The 2016 Billboard Music Awards- Watch!

The Billboard Music Awards this year was packed with amazing performances from various music genres.  Incase you missed out on it, here are the top 5 best performances of the night.

5. Adelle

Adelle took home the night’s biggest award- Top Artist and dropped her new Send My Love (To Your New Lover) video. The video pairs Adele’s amazing vocals with a simple black backdrop as she rocks an elegant floral gown. Honestly when it comes to Adelle we really don’t care what she wears. Its always all about her amazing vocals.

4. Britney Spears

Britney Spears brought the house down with a run through of her classic pop songs giving viewers a taste of her Las Vegas residency. She stripped from a military jacket to a red bikini moving from “Work Bitch” to “Womanizer”. Of course the night didn’t end without having to bask in the glory of Britney as she received the Billboard Millennium Award. The singer had a couple of nominations to celebrate: Top Female Artist, Top R&B Artist and Top R&B Album.

3. Celine Dion

Céline Dion was awarded the Icon Award, an honor gifted to the late Prince three years prior. Her performance reflected the title: Brilliant and resilient. After a trying year of losing her husband and brother, Dion’s take on Queen’s “The Show Must Go On” sounded endlessly inspiring.

2. Rihanna

Rihanna of course cannot miss out on our top five. The singer took to the stage with her latest love song “Love On The Brain”. This time, her performance did not include any twirking or unnecessary fire. It was just Riri, a mic her amazing voice.

1. Pink

Pink had to take our top spot with an amazing performance as she showed off her acrobatics side. Performing her track ‘Glitter in the air’ , the singer flew over the crowd during her performance inspiring cheers from the crowd. The huge clock spitting fire made the performance even more incredible.

The Crown Wasn’t Just For Show! Riri’s ‘ANTI’ Now No 1 on Billboard 200

She is her zone. After being quote on Vogue Magazine to have said that there is no one who can do what she does, she went on to prove it by breaking Billboard history by becoming the third top selling artist of our time.

As if that wasn’t enough, her album ANTI is now peaked at number one on Billboard Hot 200 so yeah, I guess that crown she wore in the teasers leading up to the album release wasn’t just for show. She really IS ruling music charts.
