‘La La Land’ Makes Golden Globes History!

Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling’s “La la Land” made Golden Globes history!

La La Land earned seven Golden Globes, which is the most awards for a single movie ever.

The movie won on all the categories it had previously been nominated for (Best Motion Pictures – Musical or Comedy, Best Performance in a Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy, Best Director, Best Screenplay, Best Original Picture, Best Original Song).

For Best Motion Picture, La La Land was up against 20th Century Women, Deadpool, Florence Foster Jenkins, and Sing Street. Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling took home Best Performance as Mia Dolan and Sebastian Wilder.

The record was previously held by One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest (1976) and Midnight (1979) that had six wins each.

Producers Fred Berger and Marc Platt accepted the award. “Thank you to Damien for reminding us of the magic and the power of cinema,” said Platt. “To make us feel not through cynicism or irony, but with unbridled joy and passion, to dream more urgently, to live more fervently and to love more deeply.”
