Kenya Cup side Homeboyz RFC is mourning the death of their forward Andrew Wekesa who was murdered on Sunday January 15, 2017.

Wekesa is said to have been killed by suspected thugs on his way home at Mlolongo, few miles from Kenya’s capital, Nairobi.

John Wekesa, brother to departed Andrew Wekesa, says they suspect he was stabbed and by the time they reached him it was too late.

He lastly featured for Homeboyz on Saturday December 10, 2016 during a Kenya Cup defeat to Strathmore Leos at Impala Club.

He did not play in the eighth round of the Kenya Cup against Kenya Harlequins as he had gone for a surgery.

Wekesa’s murder comes a time Kenya Rugby fraternity is mourning the death of Nondescript’s centre Ogeto Gecheo and Mwamba Scrum-half Victor Wayodi who departed in 2016.
