  • Homeboyz ends KCB’s unbeaten run

A last minute try from substitute Augustine Lugonzo secured a 33-24 victory for Menengai Cream Homeboyz as the Deejayz ended KCB’s Kenya Cup unbeaten run at the KCB Sports Club, Ruaraka.

KCB ran in four tries, two of them converted as Homeboyz grabbed five of their own from which Kelvin Maasai booted home four extras to improve his conversion haul this season to 16.

Prior to loss, champions Kabras were the only team to have halted KCB’s winning streak having forced them to a 15-15 draw in week 5, and from that draw, no one else had found a means of stopping them.

This however did matter to Homeboyz who are still yet to lose a match since the 33-32 defeat to Strathmore and had come here looking for a famous first victory at this ground which they were rewarded through a full five pointer.

The weekend also saw Mean Machine end an 11-match losing streak by dismissing Blak Blad 16-10 as Impala beat Mwamba 40-33, Nakuru lost 33-14 to Quins, Nondies beat Western Bulls by 30-18 while Kabras Sugar saw off Strathmore Leos 35-17.
