Rihanna talks marriage plans and addresses new album rumours- EVERYTHING WE KNOW

It’s official. Rihanna’s found love and we couldn’t be happier, and not just because this might translate to new music in the future but because everyone deserves a little love in their life.

Our favourite unapologetic bad girl opened up about her love life and flourishing career as both a musician and business woman in a sit down with her Ocean 8’s co star Sarah Paulson for Interview Magazine.

When asked about the special man in her life and how she manages to balance it all, this is what the 31 year old Barbadian singer, businesswoman, fashion designer, and actress had to say about it,

“I got into a new relationship, and it matters to me. It was like, “I need to make time for this.” Just like I nurture my businesses, I need to nurture this as well. I’ll shut things down for two days, three days at a time. On my calendar we now have the infamous “P,” which means personal days. This is a new thing.”

Earlier this month, the pop star-turned-makeup mogul and her beau were photographed cuddling, smiling and laughing during a lunch date at Lo Scoglio in Nerano, Italy, a province of Naples.

Pictured above: Earlier this month, the pop star-turned-makeup mogul and her beau were photographed cuddling, smiling and laughing during a lunch date at Lo Scoglio in Nerano, Italy, a province of Naples.

Rihanna and Jameel were first linked in June 2017, when they were spotted kissing and grabbing coffee while on holiday in Spain. Save for a few outings — from London and Boston to New York City — the couple have largely kept their jet set romance under wraps for the past two years. However, they stepped out for an L.A. Lakers game on Feb. 21, where they were all smiles while celebrating her birthday.

Though Rihanna again stayed vague when discussing marriage (“Only God knows that, girl. We plan and God laughs, right?”) the nine-time Grammy winner confessed that parenthood was hopefully on the horizon, telling Paulson that she wanted to be a mother “more than anything in life.”

When asked about her next album, Rihanna was unable to offer a timeline for her fans as she’s juggling a lot at the moment and therefore can’t push out new music as fast as she could before.

“I used to be in the studio, only the studio, for three months straight, and an album would come out. Now, it’s like a carousel. I do fashion one day, lingerie the next, beauty the next, then music the next. It’s like having a bunch of kids and you need to take care of them all.”

Damn Rih! Sis needs to change her name to Robyn “I can do it all” Fenty.

Rihanna has been hailed as a fashion powerhouse and a beauty mogul. She’s also a chart-topping music icon- something her fans are always quick to remind her when she “forgets” including Paulson who took one for the team and asked Rihanna for new music.

“Okay, but as a hungry kid, I need a new Rihanna album. How much longer do we have to wait?”

Rihanna confirmed that she is working on a “really fun” album at the moment and that she has blocked off a solid period of time for the studio next month.

“I’m really happy with a lot of the material we have so far, but I am not going to put it out until it’s complete. It makes no sense to rush it, but I want it out. I’ve gotten to the point where I’m like, “Even if I don’t have the time to shoot videos, I’m going to put an album out.”

Well there you have it folks, we can all stop trolling Rihanna about new music because she finally got the memo.

So here’s what we know so far. In a recent interview for T Magazine, Rihanna confirmed that her ninth album will soon be taking over our playlists. Staying true to her Caribbean roots, it will be her first reggae album with “R9” as a working title. “So far it’s just been R9, thanks to the Navy. I’m about to call it that probably, ’cause they have haunted me with this “R9, R9, when is R9 coming out?” How will I accept another name after that’s been burned into my skull?”, she added.
If there’s one thing Rihanna could give away it’s that she definitely won’t be collaborating with Drake this time, “I don’t see it happening. Not on this album, that’s for sure.” As for collaborating with Lady Gaga, she said it’s possible, “because she followed me on Instagram. It’s not in the books right now, but I’m not against it.”
And yes, she did directly address her fans’ eagerness for a new album and the fact that they’re not even the slightest bit skittish about informing her of their impatience.

We just want the bops Rih!

There’s no release date at the moment, but I’m sure Rihanna will come up with a trolling way to announce that, as well. Or she could pull a Beyoncé and surprise us with an overnight drop of her new work. Either way as a proud member of the Navy (I mean, who isn’t?), I’m just happy that our girl Rih is out here living her best life, unapologetically and I cannot wait for whatever she decides to bless us with!

Arsenal midfielder Mesut Ozil has once again helped a Kenyan team realize their football dream.

Ozil, through Homeboyz Radio’s Eric Njiru, sent 15 pair of boots and 10 Arsenal signed shirts to now know Ozil FC.

This comes after he sent six shirts, boots, photos and caps to Lawrence Masira, a boy from Nairobi’s Naserian village who became famous in March 2019 after his photo was posted on twitter by Eric Njiru.

Masira was photographed wearing an ‘Ozil shirt’ written by a marker pen prompting the 2014 World Cup winner to send kits to him.

The Tuborg Open Returns – Featuring Diplo and MØ

It’s a music campaign that seeks to bring together incredible talent in the world of music, to deliver a message.

Danish lager brand Tuborg is this year partnering with superstar artists Diplo, MØ and others to bring together culture and diversity – all within one song.

The aim? To encourage people to be ‘Open To More’ – in their own individual styles and ways.

Dip0lo has been here before, having been a major part of last year’s campaign, and this year, collaborates with the rising Danish star on a tune called ‘Stay Open’, with artists from around the world invited to rewrite the verses to tell story of what being ‘Open To More’ means to them.

Diplo says: “To be part of Tuborg Open for the second year is really cool. This year Tuborg came to us with the idea of being “Open to More” and MØ and I were already working on ‘Stay Open,’ this track about how so many times people are closed but it’s important to stay open to new people and experiences…”

Danish vocalist and songwriter MØ is also excited about the collaboration, nothing that by being open to new experiences, you can mix things up0 and see what magic can happen.

The campaign will be supported with on-pack and digital, culminating with a live gig featuring Diplo and MØ as well as some of the local artists, later in the year.

Milan Shah, International Marketing Manager at Tuborg, said, “Tuborg has a long and proud heritage with music, helping introduce new genres and artists to new markets. Through this year’s Tuborg OPEN campaign, we’re once again setting out to encourage people around the world to be Open To More – to be inquisitive, exploring the world around them, trying new experiences and sharing them with others to see where it takes them.”

Nairobi is ready. And absolutely Open To More.

Obama To Open Basketball Court in Siaya

Basketball outreach program Giants of Africa (GOA) has partnered with the Sauti Kuu Foundation by establishing a court at the soon to be opened Sauti Kuu Sports, Resources and Education Centre in Alego, Siaya County.

Toronto Raptors President and GOA founder Masai Ujiri said that the Alego facility scheduled to be opened on July 16th by former United States President Barack Obama is part of a series of basketball courts to be built across Africa in an effort to grow the next generation of African leaders.

“Over the past 15 years I have watched countless timid, hopeful kids transform into inspired, mission-driven leaders as a result of simply being exposed to more,” said Mr. Ujiri.

“As we work to create greater opportunity for young adults on the continent, expansion is our natural next step in delivering on our mission. Basketball opened so many doors and built me up on many levels, so I’m excited to pay that forward to the next generation of African giants,” he added.

Sauti Kuu which is run by Dr. Auma Obama is an organization focused on creating structures to help youth become mentally, socially and financially self-reliant. Ujiri plans to infuse local flavor into the design aesthetic of the basketball structures to feed into the vibrant youth culture of each African country.

Empowered by the impact the game has had on his own journey, Ujiri co-founded Giants of Africa with aspirations to leverage basketball as a vessel for young boys and girls to Dream Big, and visualize opportunities for their future in Africa and around the world.

Since its 2003 launch in Nigeria, the not-for-profit organization has expanded its footprint and programming across the continent and beyond the game. The organization has prioritized skills training and personal development from basketball, health and wellness, to leadership and social impact.

This partnership has been made possible through the relationship between Sauti Kuu and Gina Din Foundation.

“Over the years my foundation the Gina Din Foundation has worked closely to use sports to impact communities. We are delighted with this announcement,” said foundation founder Ms. Gina Din-Kariuki.

“The mission of the Gina Din Foundation is to provide social impact on our youth, and over the years we have seen that sport is an excellent vehicle. With this court, I look forward to all the valuable life skills the local young girls and boys will gain through the medium of basketball,” she added.
