  • Dstv To Show Serie A; Europa League, FA Cup Out

DStv subscribers are in for a super treat as the new football season begins this August!

MultiChoice, through DStv, is set to deliver some of the most action-packed football leagues in the world beginning Friday, 10 August 2018, as the world of champions, SuperSport, brings all the live action in all its HD glory to DStv football fans!.

“Our key priority is to provide the highest quality viewing experiences for the biggest and best moments in sports for our customers. We shall continue to keep up with this promise as we once again deliver a memorable football experience this 2018/2019 season with unmatched football content that resonates with our customers including the following football titles; 

The Premier League (PL), The UEFA Champions League (UCL), La Liga, Serie A, Super Cup, Supertaça Europeia and Super Spanish Cup. As part of our football offering we now have the broadcast rights to the UEFA Nations League (UNL). This brings the number of games available for DStv subscriber to over 1,140 live matches on up to five football leagues throughout this football period,” said MultiChoice Kenya Managing Director, Eric Odipo.

However, DSTV will not air Europa League, FA Cup and Carabao Cup. This is a blow to Chelsea and Arsenal fans whose team will competing in the Europa League and of-late have owned the FA Cup. 

The Premier League will kick-off on Friday, 10 August 2018 with Manchester United vs. Leicester City at 10 pm Kenya Time on SS3. 

The La Liga season will start on Saturday, 18 August 2018 followed by Serie A on Sunday, 19 August 2018. 

Throughout the season, SuperSport will show all 380 games of the Premier League matches, 380 games from La Liga and 380 matches of Serie A on DStv. DStv Premium and Compact Plus subscribers will get even more football action on SuperSport including UEFA Super Cup, and Spanish Super Cup. 

“This season will be one to remember for our subscribers across all our packages as we strive to offer more value for our customers. Subscribers on DStv Family will this season get over 450 games while Access customers will receive over 220. Both Family and Access customers can now enjoy the best of local and some international football matches which includes international friendlies plus a select Premier League games on SS7, SS8 & SS10,” added Odipo.

DStv will continue to open to its subscribers a variety of sports including Rugby, Cycling, Golf, Tennis, Athletics, Cricket, Motorsport and International Boxing.

Package Offerings:

  • Premier League:

The home of the Premier League on DStv will be SuperSport 3. Our DStv Compact customers and above will have access to the best matches of each round. Our GOtv Max and Plus, as well as DStv Access and Family customers, won’t miss out either, with access to twice the number of live Premier League matches as last season.

  • LaLiga

DStv subscribers from Family to Premium will have font row seats to all LaLiga games. This year, DStv Access viewers will be able to catch even more of LaLiga with a second game per week being added to the package. On GOtv, Max is the home of the Spanish league and all the best games will be available on the package, while Plus customers can tune in twice a week for selected matches.

  • UEFA:

The best matches from the league can be viewed live from DStv Compact Plus upwards, and all other packages will have access to selected games. From this season, GOtv Max viewers and DStv Family customers, can catch up to two UEFA Champions League games per week.

 Serie A:

DStv Family customers have a boosted offering of Serie A and will see all the matches, while Access customers will be able to catch two games a week.  GOtv Max can comfortably embrace the Italian league’s introduction to the platform as they can also view all the best matches. GOtv Plus customers can enjoy two games a week.
