It wasn’t just the boys battling for supremacy in the 90’s and early 2000’s. The women were doing it just as big, and going just as hard. Remy Ma and Nicki Minaj might be feuding now – but the rappers from the back in the day didn’t hold back any punches.
According to legend, Lil’ Kim wanted to take the up and coming bad girl Foxy Brown under her wing, but Brown felt like she didn’t need her. So of course the back and forth began about who was batter than who – beef that eventually came to a head outside the Hot 97 studios in 2001.
There was an exchange of fire between entourages, and eventually a truce was called.
Things died down eventually when both waned from the spotlight and a new group of female rappers took over, and the pair never really resolved the issue.
But for those who remember, they remember!
