Matte lipstick is the trend these days. Matte lips can look incredibly beautiful and elegant, if you know how to wear this type of makeup. Not sure how to get it just right? Follow these easy steps:
- Exfoliate your lips
Matte lipstick textures tend to emphasize all the flaws of your lips, therefore, it’s important to prepare your lips and make them smooth and soft. You can use sugar scrub or gently rub your lips with a toothbrush to remove the dead skin.
- Moisturize your lips
Matte lipstick tends to dry out your lips creating a caked or cracked effect. You can moisturize your lips by using Vaseline or lip balm so your lipstick will go smooth and more even.
- Apply Concealer
If you want your lipstick to last longer and for the color to pop, apply concealer all over your lips prior to applying your lip color.
- Line your lips
So as to get it right on your first try, use a lip liner of the same shade as your lipstick to line your lips. This will help you get neat, clean and beautiful result. Lip liner also helps your lipstick last longer.
- Avoid rubbing
Apply your lipstick but avoid rubbing your lips as you would with sheer ones. Instead, use a lip brush to spread your lipstick evenly on your lips making sure you cover every corner of your lips.
- Bloat your lips
Use a piece of toilet paper to bloat your lips so as to remove any excess color or leftover shine. It will also help avoid cakey and over-dry looking lips.
And you’re good to go. You’re welcome
