It’s already February and female Kenyan artists have released some pretty dope music. In case you have no idea what I’m talking about, well, here are 5 female artists you should be listening to right now.
Dela’s latest song “Paza Sauti” is one song you’ll definitely fall in love with. The track is a call to Kenyan youth to step out and vote this coming elections. Her amazing vocals go hand in hand with the tune produced by fancy fingers. Have a listen and get empowered:
Habida is back with a bang with his latest track “Sweet Love” which is a special Valentine’s day dedication to her fans, family and Kenya. The breath-taking jazzy R&B song is definitely a must listen and a great dedication to a loved one.
Muthoni Drummer Queen
As raw as any rapper could get,MDQ delivers thunderous bars in the track “Mine” over Kanye-resque production; making a statement with her latest release. The track allows you to be reacquainted with the sonically experimental tune and gets you excited about the album she’s dropping in April.
Rapper Femi One introduced us to a new dance style featured in her new track “Tippy toe” featuring fellow rapper Kristoff. The dance-infused track is pretty catchy definitely one that could light up the club scene. Have a listen and try the dance move:
Mayonde, Fena and Muthoni Drummer Queen
The three vocal queens came together and dropped “Kama Kawaida”. Mayonde’s fruity vocals, Fena’s over the top lyrics and MDQ’s jaw-dropping bars not forgetting Kagwe Mungai’s fierce production skills all make the song all so magical.
