  • Kenya Simbas invites Romania, USA for tests

Kenya Rugby Union has sent invites to up to three nations for possible test matches with Kenya Simbas from May 2017 as part of the preparations for the 2019 Rugby World Cup qualifiers.

KRU director of national squads and elite performance Oscar Mango says they have sent invitations to Romania, USA and Germany and are awaiting responses. Romania are ranked 16th in the World with 68.74 points, USA 17th with 65.50 points while Germany are 26th with 57.71.

Mango also confirmed that while they have sent invites, they have also received the same from Brazil.

The winner of Africa Cup 1A in 2017 qualifies for the 2019 World Cup and will have the whole of 2018 to prepare for the global showpiece to be held in Japan.
